"THE HISTORY OF AND ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES” TUESDAY – OCTOBER 10, 2023 - 6:30 P.M.

LAURENS COUNTY MUSEUM

MAGNOLIA ROOM

116 SOUTH PUBLIC SQUARE

LAURENS, SOUTH CAROLINA

As our history books have taught us all, the United States Constitution was written in 1787, ratified in 1788 and has been the longest written charter of government since 1789. Our Founding Fathers wanted to make it difficult for one person, party or group to have control of the Government for the people. It was drafted with the intent to create government on the national level with divided powers between the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary levels. This lecture will be presented by Tim Lord, of Camden, who is an avid collector of Native American, Colonial, Revolutionary and Civil War artifacts. Serves on the South Carolina Military Museum and the Revolutionary War 250 Committee for Kershaw County.
