BATTLE OF COWPENS

Lecture - “The Battle of Cowpens” (January 17, 1781) will be discussed. Cowpens was one of the most brilliantly fought battles of the war, and the Little River and Spartan Regiments played truly heroic roles.

'THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA BACKCOUNTRY”

A monthly lecture series presented by Historian and Battlefield Preservationist Durant Ashmore at the Laurens County Museum and the Upcountry History Museum

- Lectures at the Laurens County Museum are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Laurens County Museum, 116 South Public Square, Laurens, SC, 29360.


The Laurens County Museum suggests a donation for each lecture of $5 for Laurens County Museum Association members, $10 for non-members. All that are 18 years and younger no donation required.

- Lectures held at the Upcountry History Museum are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 PM at the Upcountry History Museum, 540 Buncombe Street, Greenville, SC, 29601.


Admission to the lectures at the Upcountry History Museum is $10.00/person. Feel free to bring a bag lunch to the Greenville lectures.

The Backcountry of South Carolina is home to one hundred twelve Revolutionary War engagements, the greatest number in all of America. Attendees will tread the sacred grounds where these events took place. There is no admission fee for the field trips. Field trips will be conducted at 10:00 AM on the first Saturday following both lecture theaters.
